Amaro Cetriolo, Cocktail #1 of 2026

The name is simply Bitter Fool in Italian, but fool and cucumber share the same word from what I can tell. This is a riff on the Southside cocktail - normally gin, lime, simple syrup, mint - incorporating more bracing bitterness from Amaro Nonino and using some cucumber - mint cordial before it gets too long in the tooth.

1.75 oz Broker's Gin
0.75 oz fresh lime juice
0.5 oz cucumber-mint cordial
0.5 oz Amaro Nonino

Directions: Shake all 4 ingredients together with ice, double strain into your favorite cocktail glass.

Garnish: fresh mint or a little lime peel curled up on the edge or nothing even, garnishes can be overrated
